EMSCULPT NEO® is a non-invasive treatment that combines radiofrequency (RF) with High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM+) technology in a single applicator. It’s a versatile platform used in two ways: for body contouring – building muscle and reducing fat at the same time – and for Functional Wellness, supporting muscle activation, strength, and recovery.
For body contouring, EMSCULPT NEO® builds muscle and reduces fat while also supporting skin quality, tailored to your goals. For Functional Wellness, adjusted HIFEM presets deliver gentler, more controlled stimulation to support muscle activation and recovery – helpful for muscles that are weakened, recovering, or under-conditioned. Your practitioner will tailor the plan to what you want to achieve.

How does EMSCULPT NEO® work?

  • EMSCULPT NEO® combines two energies in a single applicator: radiofrequency (RF), which warms the tissue to support fat reduction and skin quality, and High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM+) energy, which prompts strong muscle contractions to build and strengthen muscle.

  • The same platform offers tailored presets for different goals: body-contouring settings that build muscle and reduce fat across areas such as the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, and arms; and Functional Wellness settings that adjust the pulse, frequency, and intensity of the HIFEM energy to support muscle activation, recovery, and neuromuscular function.

What Can I Expect?

You’ll begin with a medical consultation to assess your health and goals and confirm whether EMSCULPT NEO® is suitable for you. If it’s recommended, your practitioner will explain the procedure, possible side effects, and how to prepare and care for the area.

On the day, the area is cleaned (shaving may be advised) and the applicators are secured in place. For body contouring, the session combines RF heating with HIFEM+ contractions; for Functional Wellness, adjusted HIFEM presets give gentler, more controlled stimulation. Either way, the intensity is set to your comfort, each session takes around 30 minutes, and there’s no downtime. Results build gradually over the weeks following a course of treatments.

What is EMSCULPT NEO® Functional Wellness?

It’s a set of treatment presets that adjust the HIFEM stimulation – with shorter pulses, higher frequency, and lower intensity – to give gentler, more controlled muscle stimulation. It’s used to support muscle activation, strength, and recovery, including for muscles that are weakened or recovering, and is delivered as part of a plan tailored to you.

How many sessions are needed?

A typical course is four sessions, usually spaced 5 to 10 days apart. Your practitioner will tailor the plan to your goals.

When will I see results?

For body contouring, results usually begin a few weeks after your final session, with the most visible outcomes around three months afterwards. For Functional Wellness, your practitioner will discuss what to expect based on your goals.

Is the treatment painful?

Most people describe it as intense muscle contractions with a warming sensation, rather than painful. The intensity is adjusted to your comfort, and the Functional Wellness settings are gentler by design.

Are there any side effects?

Side effects are usually minimal – some people have temporary muscle soreness or redness in the treated area, similar to after exercise.

Who is a suitable candidate?

For body contouring, it’s best suited to people close to their target weight who want to improve muscle tone and reduce stubborn, localised fat. For Functional Wellness, it may suit those looking to support muscle activation and recovery. It isn’t suitable for people with metal implants, electronic implants such as pacemakers, certain medical conditions, or during pregnancy.
